Who We Are
CrossFit Lumberyard, “The Lumberyard” as it’s affectionately called by our loving #LmbrJCKD members, serves as a playground for those who want to nurture and train an alter ego buried beneath the daily grind of life. For others of us, it serves as an outlet, a safe place for an oft-hidden athlete to be unleashed to our WODs specifically programmed to strengthen our daily movements. And still for others, it is a family and a community that encourages the never-ending pursuit of being more fit. However it serves your life, the Lumberyard is where we “thank you for being you” yet also strive to make our members stronger and faster versions of themselves.
Our programming aims to condition our functional movements like pushing, pulling, squatting, lifting, and running, all of which can be scaled to any fitness level but designed to be equally as challenging and sweat-inducing to each person. With the guidance of our educated coaches, our members reach fitness goals they never thought possible for themselves and become hooked to our strong community of recovering have-nots. In camaraderie wrought with humor and wit, we grind together in fitness, family, and fun.
What We Do
At nearly 6,000sf, our gym offers a great training environment. A 54 feet of competition rig with pull up bars and gymnastics rings, in addition to kettlebells and dumbbells, barbells and rowers, and space for squatting, running, jumping, climbing, lifting and throwing—moving our body the way it was designed to function.
All of our workouts are made up of exercises that mimic movements performed in day-to-day life or sport. We focus on improving functional movements that are necessary and common in our daily activities, like picking up our kids or moving that bag of mulch from our trunk to the backyard.What Is CrossFit?
How We’re Different
Meticulous coaching, strategic programming, and a close-knit community all come together under our roof. By keeping our classes small, we give our members and their goals the personal attention they cannot find at a larger gym. Each day’s program differs from the next and is customized to suit each athlete’s fitness level. There are also organized competitions available for those who wish to compete and a supportive member base that consistently shows up to cheer on their efforts.
Each of our classes is one hour long and designed to make us sweat. Every day our workouts push the limits of, and thereby grow, our capacity in ten fitness domains: cardio-respiratory, endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance, and accuracy. And at the end of every class, basking in the victory of a conquered mental battle of fight vs. flight, we celebrate each other’s progress.
